About Kathy
Kathryn (Kathy) Wolfe is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP).
Kathy believes that every individual has purpose and infinite worth, although our lived experiences may cause us to lose sight of this. Throughout her life and previous career, Kathy has been sought out by others who found in her an empathetic listener and encourager. She finally took the hint and earned an M.A. degree in Counseling from Concordia University while in her early 60s. Kathy brings years of wisdom into the therapy room and a fresh, upbeat and active style to helping you find your way back to remembering your worth.
Kathy primarily sees adults, helping them overcome anxiety or depression, work through grief, cultivate healthy relationships, and adjust to the changes and challenges that come with aging. She considers aging with skill and grace one of her special areas of practice.
She favors an psychodynamic approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT.)
Kathy’s favorite counseling theorist is Carl Rogers, who said that the three greatest gifts a therapist can offer a client are: unconditional positive regard, accurate empathy, and genuineness.
Being able to offer these three gifts along with evidence-based therapeutic methods is deeply fulfilling for her, which she is able to pass onto you through her uplifting presence. Kathy is able to provide Christian counseling services to those who request it.
Kathy and her husband of 42 years have three children who have grown up to become their very best
friends, and three (so far) treasured grandchildren.
