About Kylee

Kylee is a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner (PLMHP). Kylee earned her B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in School Counseling from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Kylee is training with the renowned KC Play Therapy Institute to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT.)

Kylee's passion for working with children and their families began in her work within the school system and further developed in her work as a school-based therapist. In these roles, Kylee gained valuable experience working with children, their families, and school staff to help them achieve their goals.

Kylee believes that no two children are the same and for this reason, uses a variety of techniques to ensure treatment is tailored to each individual. Some of these techniques include: talking, telling therapeutic stories, drama (role-playing), expressive art, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (working on thoughts and feelings and how they change our mood), and integrating play into the skills taught in the therapy room. Kylee is also trained in trauma relief through use of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( TF-CBT.)  Kylee recently becamed trained in Circle of Security, a parenting curriculum that focuses on families understanding their own inner world and how they relate to their children. For youth and teens who are interested in using art, Kylee is also trained in the use of expressive arts for therapy.

Kylee works first by understanding the unique needs of every child and their family while working towards alleviating any symptoms. Not sure where to turn for help with your child? Book with Kylee when you are ready to have a professional eye and a collaborative practitioner who has the deep compassion required to do excellent work with children.
