Janessa sees clients in office and via telehealth as needed. Janessa welcomes the opportunity to work with adults, as well as adolescents and elementary aged children. She is most passionate about working with individuals struggling with trauma, mood disorders like anxiety or depression, self-esteem/identity issues, or behavioral concerns. She also enjoys working with children and teens on the Autism spectrum. Janessa holds licensure in Nebraska and Iowa.

Janessa comes to Lifespan with several years of experience serving children, teens and adults in Southwest Iowa in outpatient practice. Janessa is well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and client - centered practices, as well as play modalities when she sees younger clients. Janessa can provide Trauma Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and expressive arts therapy for clients who have been impacted by traumatic experiences, or developmental trauma in childhood.
Janessa is a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner (PLMHP). Janessa earned her B.S in Criminal Justice Administration at Peru State College. She went on to pursue her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa. Janessa believes through a compassionate and insightful approach, therapy can be a tool that can assist individuals from all walks of life.
Janessa has experience working with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, autism spectrum, PTSD, and trauma. Janessa is extremely passionate about helping clients of all backgrounds reach their goals and dreams. Janessa uses different approaches through thoroughly researched theories to help clients reach their full potential and break barriers they have not known existed.
